A Yummy Snack for Busy Families

Life has a way of keeping us busy. You can find yourself struggling to keep all of the “plates spinning” or “balls in the air”. One thing our family finds helpful is a snack that can keep the kids fueled even as we are knee deep in our projects and activities. Yes, a little planning and preparation are required, but the end result has come in quite handy to keep everyone happy and going strong.

What is this snack? PEANUT BUTTER BALLS! Beware though, these yummy treats can disappear too quickly if you are not careful. Another wonderful thing to note is that kids can make these! There is no cooking required…just measure, mix, and roll! No need to make sandwiches when you are packing a lunch either.

Peanut Butter Balls

2 cups Peanut Butter (pick your favorite) OR (use Almond Butter)

2 cups Honey

2 cups Powdered Milk

8 cups Oats (quick or old fashioned)

1 Tablespoon Cinnamon

1 – 2 cups Chocolate Chips (optional)

Other add in ideas…coconut, chia seeds, flax seeds, white chocolate, or whatever your fancy!

Directions:

Mix the dry ingredients first and make a valley. Add the peanut butter and honey. Use your hands to mix…it does get messy! If you think the mixture is too dry add more honey and peanut butter. Roll into balls. You do not need to refrigerate. Now take them with you to the zoo, or wherever. No need to make sandwiches for your picnic.
